About the movie:
Cult favorite (and rightfully so) British film about two aspiring actors living in London in the
60's. After their latest booze and drug binge, they decide to go on holiday, by mistake it turns
out, into the British countryside. The poor weather and unfriendly neighbors are less daunting
than Withnail's Uncle Monty who turns his amorous attentions to his nephew's friend ("I" aka
Marwood). The film is a comedic precursor to "Trainspotting".
Personal:
The WriterGroupie thinks this may be one of the most quotable films ever made. And while it may
be light on story, it's rich in cast and character.
