About the movie:
A fantasy coming of age story about a teenage girl, tired of the responsibility of caring for her
baby brother, who wishes the Goblin King would come and take him away. And when he does, she has
to make her way to the Goblin King's castle before the baby becomes a goblin forever.
Personal:
The WriterGroupie counts this as one of her favorite movies of all time,
for its aspect as a story about having to grow up and accept personal responsibility, its
absolutely fantastic soundtrack, its inspired designs by amazing fantasy artist Brian Froud, and
as a wonderful tour de force for David Bowie and
newcomer Jennifer Connelly.
As a teenager, the WriterGroupie wanted nothing more than to be Jennifer Connelly in her
princess ballgown dancing in the arms of David Bowie. As an adult... that hasn't changed!
