Title: Nick Sagan's "idlewild" Date: August 18, 2003 Okay, I generally don't recommend books BEFORE I've read them, but I'll make an exception in this case. I just had the pleasure of attending this author's booksigning for his first book, the mystery novel "idlewild" and having heard the author read the prologue to the crowd, I was intrigued. The book is next on my to be read pile, but I have enough faith in this writer's ability, given his previous television writing work (and my affinity for him as a person), that I suspect this one is going to be a real winner. Update: I finally had the chance to read this challenging and fascinating book. Think
Tim Burton does cyberpunk. Dark, offbeat, original. Not an easy read the first 50 pages
or so, but worth sticking with as this amazing world unfurls and unfolds and unravels in a
most delightfully twisted way. |
