About the Author:
More than a writer, Ray Bradbury is a living legend, a cultural icon and a commentator on the
human spirit. One of the grandfathers of modern science fiction, Bradbury's stories are written
from the heart and are driven by the very human characters (yes, even the aliens) rather than
technology. His Mars is as familiar as our backyard, both as comforting and strange. His
views of the world encompass the many decades he's spent studying people and books, though he
never had a formal college education.
Some of his great works include the classic "Fahrenheit 451" and brilliant anthologies of
classic short stories such as "The Martian Chronicles" and "Dinosaur Tales" to more modern
collections and novels including "The Toynbee Convector" and "A Graveyard For Lunatics". His
most recent release is a collection of 100 of his greatest tales called simply "Bradbury Stories".
This ultimate collection is a wonderful place for readers new and old to visit the boundless
imagination of this grand master of speculative fiction.
Personal:
The WriterGroupie has had the pleasure and honor of attending more than one of Mr. Bradbury's
book signings beginning when she was seventeen and first had him sign her copy of "Fahrenheit
451" which featured 17-year-old literary heroine named Clarisse. The WriterGroupie also once gave a
copy of "The Martian Chronicles" to David Bowie
as a gift.
