About the actor:
TV's answer to Billy Zane.
In one of his earliest roles, Ivan Sergei made a lasting impression in the horribly-titled, but
excellently acted TV movie Mother, May I Sleep With Danger, playing the possessive, abusive,
stalker boyfriend of Tori Spelling. He went on to co-star in John Woo's Canadian TV series Once a Thief,
but really came to the attention of the American audience when he starred with Amanda Peet in the
romantic drama series Jack and Jill.
His birthday is May 7.
Personal:
The WriterGroupie first laid eyes on this gorgeous actor when he guest-starred
on the short-lived vampire series Kindred: The Embraced. He left her breathless in that role.
She knew somebody had to 'discover' this incredibly charismatic guy and give him his own series
to star in. She was thrilled when he turned up in the lead in Jack and Jill, but while it
certainly showed off his charm, she didn't think the role showed off his incredible intensity.
She thinks he has yet to find his defining role, but knows someday he will. He just shines with star quality.
